Amity knows who she is. A junior in college, in love with Alex, the boy she met at her prom. From the moment they laid eyes on each other, they knew they were meant to be together. Amity wants to spend her whole life with Alex. It’s been hard since he graduated from the college they both attended and went away to law school. She misses Alex so terribly. When artistic Marcus catches her attention, she tries to ignore the way she is drawn to him. The more time she spends with Marcus, the harder it is to ignore her feelings. When she discovers that Alex plans to propose to her on Christmas, Amity realizes she loves Marcus and has to end things with Alex. When she shows up at his mother’s home to surprise him and tell him how she feels, Amity finds that Marcus has been drawing pictures of her since he was 12 years old. Amity only met Marcus that year, how can this be? As she tries to flee, Marcus begs her to remember and Amity is flooded with memories of them as children, but how can that be.
Amity was so confident in who she was, was she wrong about everything? Is reincarnation real? Is Marcus her soul mate? Is Amity making the right decision? Amity chose to follow her dreams, which very well could be memories. Though there are so many secrets Marcus will not tell her about their past lives. Amity loves Marcus, but can’t let go of the way she feels for Alex. The way the relationships evolve and swirl around each other in this story was so fluid that I was sure I knew what was happening. This book was full of surprises.
I very much enjoyed this story. From the moment I picked it up, I was swept up in the love stories that unfolded from the pages. I couldn’t put it down and read it from beginning to end in one sitting. The author created characters deep and full of passion. Everything flowed so well and I was easily swept away on the tides of time. Every time I thought I had the story figured out, I was wrong. This book wrapped me in a warm blanket of love and then dashed my heart onto the rocks. I would gladly recommend this book and will look for other work by this author.
I would like to thank the author for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
5 out of 5 stars.
